The Marmoucha Orchestra, an ensemble of virtuoso musicians, skillfully combines modern approaches with a deep passion for the musical traditions of the South West Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region. This diverse group of musicians, guided by the expert artistic team, brings expertise ranging from Classical to Jazz and ethnic traditions, which is the key to their innovation and ability to take on a wide range of projects at the highest level. Each member possesses their own specialization, technique, and repertoire.

 

Arin Keshishi

Arin, born into an Armenian family in Tehran, Iran, is known both as a solo artist and as a multistyle session player with a versatile and diverse skill set. His musical diversity stems from his extensive experience working with international musicians and artists from around the world, such as Antonio Lizana, Dhafer Youssef, Homayoun Shajarian, Antonio Rey, and Chano Domínguez. Contributing to projects in a wide range of genres—including jazz, fusion, pop, rock, classical, flamenco, and Iranian and Armenian folk—these collaborations have played a crucial role in developing the unique sound he is celebrated for today. He also serves as the Artistic Director of the renowned Marmoucha Orchestra in Amsterdam, while passionately engaged as a composer and arranger.

 

Self-Reflection

“Self-reflection,” Arin Keshishi’s recently released debut album, serves as his guiding compass in his musical journey. It aims to craft a distinct sound that echoes his unique identity, weaving personal experiences into an identity-rich sonic tapestry reflecting his individuality and journey Since his move to Amsterdam, Marmoucha has played an integral role in his musical venture and has been a constant source of inspiration. Therefore, he envisions this challenge as an opportunity to experiment and expand his music by merging his style with Marmoucha’s orchestral expertise. This collaboration results in a new approach that showcases diverse talents, enriches Arin’s compositions, and adds unique brushstrokes to the evolving canvas.
