Dos Historias, Un Camino - Zwei Geschichten, ein Weg - Switzerland
Special concert in Rapperswil-Jona, on the east side of Lake Zurich, Switzerland.
Let yourself be enchanted by the new collaboration between the Marmoucha Orchestra and master singer and violinist Hamid Ajbar with performances in Switzerland.
“Dos historias, un camino (Two Stories, one Journey)” is a musical encounter between the Arabic-Andalusian and the flamenco cultures. Although initially they were from different epochs they coincide in a time and place where both were marginalized. With this show, the depth of flamenco singing and the lyric poetry of Andalusian moaxajas and zejeles are united, accompanied by the beauty and passion of flamenco dance, in a fusion “jonda”, exquisite in flavor, and with a fragrance as fresh as the breeze of the summer nights of the Alhambra…

Kinderen van Al-Andalus – Muziek uit het verloren paradijs in Marokko
Many Moroccans of Andalusian descent consider Al-Andalus as the lost paradise. Both Jews and Muslims were expelled from Al-Andalus, the Arabic name for the Iberian Peninsula, starting from 1492. They found a safe haven in Morocco, where they kept their Andalusian culture and traditions alive. Some families still preserve the centuries-old keys to their houses in Granada. Come and listen to a beautiful and unifying musical encounter between the past and the present, between Jewish and Islamic, between classical and modern.
