Join us Sunday July 30th at 18:30 for an acoustic concert of composer and oud player Mohamed Ahaddaf featuring Maalem Saad Tiouly, that will explore a variety of Moroccan and world music genres, fusing Ahaddaf’s background in Andalusi music with Tiouly’s gnawa vibes to create a unique musical experience. Tickets are 50 dirhams and can be purchased from American Arts Center reception at any time.

Mohamed Ahaddaf is a highly talented Moroccan oud player, composer and musician, firmly rooted in Andalusian culture. He studied at the Tétouan Conservatory, where he was taught by the great master Mohamed Ramat. He was a soloist in Mohamed Larbi Temsamani’s Andalusian orchestra. After arriving in the Netherlands, he decided to use his knowledge more widely. Mohamed is a well-respected musician, who alongside his Andalusian roots, has made strides into jazz and Arabic music. In 2010, Mohamed founded the Ahaddaf Quartet, which brings together oud, piano, bass and percussion. The Quartet has recorded 4 albums featuring Mohamed’s compositions: Nasim al Andalous (2012), Spoken Soul (2014), Seasons (2016) and most recently ANA W’INTA (2023)

Kom zondag 30 juli om 18:30 naar een akoestisch concert van componist en ud-speler Mohamed Ahaddaf met Maalem Saad Tiouly, dat een verscheidenheid aan Marokkaanse en wereldmuziekgenres zal verkennen, waarbij Ahaddaf’s achtergrond in Andalusische muziek wordt gecombineerd met Tiouly’s gnawa-vibes om een unieke muzikale ervaring. Mohamed Ahaddaf is een zeer getalenteerde Marokkaanse ud-speler, componist en muzikant, stevig geworteld in de Andalusische cultuur. Hij studeerde aan het Tétouan Conservatorium, waar hij les kreeg van de grote meester Mohamed Ramat. Hij was solist in het Andalusische orkest van Mohamed Larbi Temsamani. Na aankomst in Nederland besloot hij zijn kennis breder in te zetten. Mohamed is een gerespecteerd muzikant, die naast zijn Andalusische roots grote stappen heeft gemaakt in de jazz en Arabische muziek. In 2010 richtte Mohamed het Ahaddaf Quartet op, waarin ud, piano, bas en percussie samenkomen.
