De Iraanse bassist, componist en artistiek leider van het Marmoucha Orchestra, Arin Keshishi, staat bekend om het combineren van westerse technieken, klassieke muziek, jazz en flamenco. Zo brengt Keshishi, die ook roots heeft in de Armeense cultuur, hedendaagse jazz en Oosterse invloeden samen. Het Marmoucha Orchestra bestaat uit jonge musici die gezamenlijk de kloof tussen oost en west overbruggen, met de nadruk op muziek uit Noord-Afrika, het Midden-Oosten en de Middellandse Zee. Hun repertoire varieert van Maghreb- en Midden-Oosterse melodieën tot jazz, pop, hedendaagse en
elektronische muziek. Elk lid heeft zijn eigen specialisatie, techniek en repertoire.

Self-reflection, het recent uitgebrachte debuutalbum van Arin Keshishi, fungeert als leidend kompas in zijn muzikale reis waarin hij reflecteert op zijn eerdere ervaringen. Sinds zijn verhuizing naar Amsterdam heeft het Marmoucha Orchestra een belangrijke rol gespeeld in zijn muzikale ontwikkeling. Daarom ziet hij deze samenwerking als een unieke kans om te experimenteren en zijn muziek te combineren met de orkestrale expertise van het Marmoucha Orchestra.

The Iranian bassist, composer, and artistic director of the Marmoucha Orchestra, Arin Keshishi, is known for blending Western techniques, classical music, jazz, and flamenco. Keshishi, who also has roots in Armenian culture, combines contemporary jazz with Eastern influences. The Marmoucha Orchestra consists of young musicians who collectively bridge the gap between East and West, focusing on music from North Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. Their repertoire ranges from Maghreb and Middle Eastern melodies to jazz, pop, contemporary, and electronic music. Each member has their own specialization, technique, and repertoire.

“Self-reflection,” the recently released debut album from Arin Keshishi, serves as a guiding compass in his musical journey where he reflects on his past experiences. Since moving to Amsterdam, the Marmoucha Orchestra has played a significant role in his musical development. Therefore, he sees this collaboration as a unique opportunity to experiment and blend his music with the orchestral expertise of the Marmoucha Orchestra.
